Deeco Brand Guidelines / Visual Identity
The following visual identity has been designed to portray Deeco as sophisticated, confident, and highly knowledgeable in its industry.
This brand guidelines outlines how to use Deeco's dynamic visual system in a way that maintains a cohesive and recognisable identity while also allowing for personalisation and contextual relevance.
Our design incorporates industry-inspired patterns, typography, photography, color, and tone of voice to reflect unparalleled expertise, trustworthiness and professionalism.
Logo
The main logo for Deeco has a bold, modern design with a geometric sans-serif wordmark and accompanying positioning text. The 'D' in the wordmark has a unique custom angle that complements the angular nature of the custom 'D' brand mark. It is essential to preserve the logo's spacing to ensure proper alignment of custom angles and text.
Logo Lock-Ups
The variety of logo lock-ups on the right are designed to provide appropriate options for different use cases.
Primary - The Primary lock-up should be used in all cases where possible.
Vertical - The Vertical lock-up provides a design for when a vertical alignment is most appropriate for the application.
Horizontal The horizontal lock-up provides a design for when a horizontal alignment is most appropriate for the application. The accompanying text sits on one baseline.
Minimalist The minimalist version of the logo provides a simple and clean version of the logo that can be used at a small scale when accompanying text is not appropriate and you want instant brand recognition. This is the best logo option to use for apparel.
Each logo-lock up has a reversed version that can be used on a dark background.
Wordmarks
The following wordmark options are provided for certain situations where the focus is primarily on the brand name and the brand icon is displayed elsewhere in the design.
Primary wordmark - The primary wordmark has positioning text and should be used when further context is needed.
Minimalist wordmark - The minimalist wordmark is the most simple representation of the brand and can be used if brand recognition is already established and the brand mark is present elsewhere in the design.
Brand Mark Construction
On the right you can see the brand mark construction process.
Brand Mark
The Deeco brand icon holds significant importance within the brand identity. It provides a graphic for instant brand recognition, is scalable and adaptable for different mediums and use cases, and is simple and timeless.
The examples on the right show the appropriate treatment of the brand mark on light and dark backgrounds. The gradient glow can be used for digital media when appropriate for the design.
Lock-Up Usage
It is essential for brand consistency that the lock-ups are not distorted, altered or recreated in anyway. Here are a few examples of what not to do.
A. Don’t use non-approved colours
B. Don’t stretch or distort the logo
C. Don’t change the alignment of the brand icon in relation to text outside of specified lock-ups
D. Don’t change the fonts
E. Don’t alter letter spacing
F. Don’t change the emphasis in the text
Minimum Size & Clear Space
Clear space - The ‘e’ from Deeco is used to indicate a clear space boundary. Ensure the logo is placed so that no other visual elements encroach on this clear space. Clear space around the logo is used to maximise visibility and reduce clutter.
Minimum size - These are the minimum sizes that the logos and icon should be used. Do not display the logo at sizes smaller than these or they risk becoming illegible and lose their integrity.
